World cinema to be filmed in the Kyrgyz Republic

After Indians and Arabs, now Russian filmmakers are also looking for locations in Kyrgyzstan for filming films. This opportunity was provided to them by the Tourism Development Support Fund of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Union of Cinematographers of Kyrgyzstan.

The coast of Issyk-Kul turned into the main meeting place for Russian and Kyrgyz directors, producers, screenwriters for four days. Representatives of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia and "MOSKINO" came to the film cluster "Issyk-Kul - Lake of Peace". The idea of the project was born during the Eurasian Economic Forum, which was held in Bishkek in May 2022.

An agreement on cooperation between the Union of Cinematographers of the Russian Federation and the Union of Cinematographers of Kyrgyzstan was signed in Issyk-Kul.

During several days of their stay in our country, the Russians held a pitching of film projects of their Kyrgyz colleagues, who presented ideas for new films and series. They also looked at potential film locations for filming and even conducted test shootings. The diversity and picturesque nature of Kyrgyzstan exceeded their expectations.

Now the film cluster "Issyk-Kul - Lake of Peace" will become an annual event. The next one is scheduled for July 2023. In the meantime, all participants can communicate on the online platform, which has become the site kinoozeromira.com.
