Ak-Sai glacier

Ak-Sai glacier is located in Ala-Archa Gorge near Bishkek at an altitude of 3,500 meters above the sea level. The local mountains form a natural protection from the south winds, which is why a colossal ice layer has formed here.

Ak-Sai Glacier

For the convenience of tourists, four base camps were set up in the area of Ak-Sai glacier, the most well-know of which is the Ratsek’s Hut (named after the Czech climber who died here).

The view of the glacier

Climbing the Ak-Sai glacier is one of the most popular destinations for tourists from different countries. More than 80 routes for travelers have been laid here.

The beautiful peaks in the area

The highest and most beautiful peaks in the area are Semenov-Tian-Shansky – 4,875 meters, Korona (Crown) – 4,860 meters, Bailyan Bashi – 4,700 meters, Simagin – 4,400 meters, Free Korea – 4,750 meters, Boxing – 4,250 meters.
