It is the largest water reservoir in Kyrgyz Republic and Central Asia, its area is 284 square kilometers, and the average depth is 215 meters. Two powerful hydroelectric stations are located on Toktogul reservoir - Toktogul and Kurpsai.
Banks of Toktogul reservoir are popular rest area among residents and guests of Jalal-Abad region. In summer, the water here is warm and pleasant. Trout, carp and pike perch live in the reservoir.
